Chime commends Air force officers for professionalism, co-operation on security

Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State has commended the Nigerian Air Force for the discipline and cooperation demonstrated by its officers and men to ensure security in the state.
Chime made the commendation on Tuesday when the Air Officer Commanding Training Command of the force, Air Vice Marshal Salihu Bala-Ribah, paid him a visit at the Government House, Enugu.
The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Mr Sunday Onyebuchi, said the state government had yet to receive reports on abuse of the citizens by an air force officer in the state.
He noted that the air force had also contributed to the maintenance of security and educational development in the state.
“As a government, we want to commend you for your cooperation and contributions toward making the state one of the safest in the country.
“Your men are well-disciplined because we have not received any report of abuse by your men, that is why they earn respect from both the people and the government,’’ Chime said.
Speaking earlier, Bala-Ribah called for more partnership between the state government and the force.
He said he was in the state to inspect projects and get acquainted with the problems and achievements of the force.
“We appreciate the assistance and understanding of the political leadership in the state. We at the air force have every reason to be grateful, especially for some projects of the force done by the government,’’ he said.
