Enugu State to hold LG elections on November 4

The Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) has released the timetable for the conduct of Local Government Elections in the State.

At a meeting with representatives of Political Parties and Security Agencies at ENSIEC Headquarters in Enugu, the Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Mike Ajogwu (SAN), announced that the Election would take place on the 4th of November this year.

Ajogwu urged all candidates planning to vie for Elective positions to approach EBSIEC for the purchase of forms at the cost of ₦300, 000.00 for Chairmanship Position and ₦100, 000.00 for Councillorship Position.

“I formally give the political parties the go-ahead to start their electioneering campaigns towards election to local government councils in Enugu State.

“This is in compliance with the mandate of the Commission as contained in Section 7 of Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission Law Cap. 59 Law of Enugu  2004 together with the provision of section 11 (1) of Enugu State Local Government Law Cap. 109 Laws of Enugu State 2004; Notice is hereby given that Election to Local Government Councils in Enugu State shall hold on the  4th November, 2017,”.
