APC denies releasing zoning arrangements, approves schedule of activities for national convention

Sen. John Akpanudoehede, National Secretary, APC Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC)

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday denied releasing any zoning arrangement for its forthcoming National Convention, slated for February 26, 2022, as being speculated.

Sen. James Akpankudohede, National Secretary, APC Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), clarified while speaking with newsmen at the party’s national secretariat.

He said the APC CECPC, at its 19th regular meeting which was held at the party’s national secretariat, did not discuss the zoning arrangement for the party’s forthcoming National Convention.

According to him, the report was fake and members of the general public should disregard it.

“I am here to debunk the fake news going around on social media that we have zoned offices, we are yet to meet on the issue of zoning.

“The news and rumour making the rounds are fake news, we never discussed the issue during our deliberations, people should disregard the story because it is fake news, it is not true,” Akpankudohede said.

New national officials are expected to be elected at the APC national convention to manage its affairs which are currently managed by its Gov. Mai Mala Buni-led CECPC.

Meanwhile, the APC has approved the schedule of activities for its planned National Convention slated for February 26th.

Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe, Secretary of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) made this disclosure in a statement shortly after its 19th regular meeting held in Abuja on Wednesday at the party Secretariat.

The statement reads: ” The All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) at its 19th regular meeting on Wednesday 19th January 2022 at the Party’s National Secretariat (Buhari House) considered and adopted the timetable/schedule of activities for the 26th February 2022 APC National Convention.

“Receiving of the Interim Report of the National Reconciliation Committee – 31/01/2022

“Consideration and adoption of Reports of State Congresses – 02/02/2022

“Inauguration of the State Executives – 03/02/2022

“Sales of Forms to all aspirants vying for National Offices (APC National Secretariat) – 14/02/2022

“Submission of completed forms and accompanying documents (APC National Secretariat) – On or before 19/02/2022

Publication of Sub-Committees – 19/02/2022

“Screening of all aspirants vying for National Offices – 20th – 22nd of February. 2022

“Screening Appeals to hear and resolve complaints arising from the screening exercise – 23/02/2022

“Accreditation of all statutory and elected delegates to the National Convention – 24th – 25th of February 2022

“National Convention to elect National Officers to the National Executive Committee (NEC) – 26/02/2022
