Fayose sacks LG education secretaries

Ekiti Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has fired all the local goverment education secretaries and has directed them to hand over government properties in their care to the most senior officers.

According to a press state‎ment issued on Tuesday in Ado Ekiti by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Idowu Adelusi, the dismissal “takes immediate effect.”

Meanwhile, a member of House of Representatives, Oyetunde Ojo, has called on individuals and corporate organisations to contribute their quota to the development of education in Nigeria.

Speaking in Ijero-Ekiti while inaugurating the school main gate built for the College of Health Sciences and Technology in the town, Ojo stated that the falling standard of education would have been addressed, if philanthropists could support through funding.

Ojo who represents Ekiti Central federal constituency II also donated two boreholes, N1m for the completion of a laboratory, a Cybercafe, and 120 computers for the yet to be completed ICT centre among others.

The federal lawmaker also donated 200 customised chairs and tables to Ipoti High School and Comprehensive High school, Odo-Owa Ekiti in

Ijero.

In his remark, the Provost of the College, Bayo Ojo, described the lawmaker as unique and special, commending him for the gesture.

The Principal of Ipoti high School, Mr. Joseph Adeniyi, and the Olupoti of Ipoti Ekiti, Oba Oladipupo Kolade Oluwademilade I, thanked Ojo for the gesture. Punch
