The gunmen who kidnapped the wife of Deputy Managing Director and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of The Sun newspaper, Steve Nwosu, in the early hours of Monday, September 14, 2015, have made a demand of N100 million as ransom for her release.
The demand was made during a telephone conversation between Mr. Nwosu and the alleged abductors hours after the incident.
Although details to this effect are still sketchy, it leaves the family and well-wishers of the Nwosus with some hope that she may return to safety soon.
The gunmen had stormed the home of the Nwosus in Okota, Amuwo Odofin Council, Lagos and abducted his wife, Oluwatoyin in the early hours of Monday.
This would be the second of similar events the Nwosus would be experiencing in three years, as Mr. Nwosu, in July 2012, had a close shave with death when robbers attacked him shooting at his car in broad daylight, leaving him with some injuries and trauma, which he spent months recovering from. – Daily Independent.
