Much of the duty of the DSS have been usurped by other agencies. It is the primary duty of the DSS to protect the president with COMPLIMENTS from other agencies.
When you raise unwarranted false sense of threat, security apparatus available would be deployed accordingly to meet those threat.
Someone cooked up a false sense of threat and someone sycophantically responded. period
