The Transition Committee Chairman of Onitsha South local government area of Anambra’ State Mr Emeka Orji has dismissed reports trending on social media of alleged plans by the State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo to remove him from office.

According to the allegation, Gov Charles Soludo had frowned at the visit to the burnt Chemical Market at the Bridge Head Onitsha and summoned Orji for questioning on why he allowed the Labour Party Presidential candidate Mr Peter Obi to visit the scene of the fire incident.

But Orji in a statement said that there were no such actions from Soludo adding that some fifth columnists are not comfortable with the socio-economic transformation of the Council area through his instrumentality”.

He stated that “What we have done so far in the last three months has created multiplier effects on our markets and other sectors of Onitsha South and you know that very soon we shall embark on water transportation with the establishment of a Jetty and these are the things that they are not comfortable with”

According to him, “Ordinarily, one would have chosen not to respond to those spurious allegations but for the purposes of clarity and brevity it has become instructive that we set the records straight”

“That Gov Charles Soludo has more important things to do for Anambra people than reducing the position of a governor to mere pettiness”

“There was never a time Gov Charles Soludo was against the visit of Peter Obi to the burnt Chemical Market and there was never a time Mr Emeka Orji was queried over the visit of Obi”

“Similarly, it is worthy of note that at every political dispensation, desperate politicians and political party apologies find safe haven in malicious and indemnified statements against political opponents in order to justify their payment from their benefactors”

He pointed out that,”some fifth columnists who have been on the pay role of some political jobbers have concluded arrangements to frustrate the administration of Gov Charles Soludo who has chosen to put a stop from the activities of people whose stuck in trade is to make our dear state ungovernable”

He explained further that, “Governor Soludo”s traducers have lost their deposits in this chase game as their dooms day expectations that Soludo would fail has backfired and they have chosen to chase shadows in order to remain relevant before their benefactors”.

“Against this backdrop we wish to urge the general public and especially the staff and people of Onitsha South local government area to discountenance those fake reports as it speak volumes of the machinations of those who have been feeding fat on the patrimony of our their Anambra state” he stated.
