Handshake Across the Niger

This is a great new dawn for Nigeria. Never again will the mutual suspicion between the Igbos and Yoruba of Southern Nigeria ever rear it's ugly head. The coming together of these two great nations is an answered prayer. We appreciate the courage of the organisers of the event and those who were privileged to attend.

I am particularly intrigued by Chief Adebanjo's comment that we will look forward henceforth, and not backward.
As the the south begins this great initiative, let it be noted that there will be a 'fighting back' from many angles. Therefore, we should have iron-cast determination to forge ahead; let the leaders of the group trade with extreme care in order to remain safe and secure henceforth; and finally, because of the rattling effect of this new bold initiative, we expect that 'anything can happen.' Let everyone be ready and prepared to make any sacrifice that is deemed necessary for the success of the initiative, including strengthening our capacities for civil disobedience and resistance.
