Promasidor Nigeria Limited, makers of Cowbell brand of milk, has won an award for its corporate social responsibility policy.
In a statement on Thursday, the company stated that the award, was given to the company in recognition of its contribution to the Lagos State Government Ministry of Education Support Our Schools Initiative project for promoting teaching and learning of Mathematics through Mathematics competition in all public senior secondary schools in the state.
The award was given by the Osolo of Isolo Kingdom, Oba Kabiru Agbabiaka, as part of the programmes lined up to commemorate his10th coronation anniversary.
The statement added that “this award makes it the second that Promasidor will receive this year. Early in the year, Promasidor emerged one of the winners of the Lagos State Government Support-Our-Schools-Initiative Corporate Social Responsibility Award for 2014,” the statement added.
“The Lagos State Government also last year presented Corporate Organisation Tax Compliance award to Promasidor, in recognition of its compliance with the state’s tax laws. The award was presented to the company by the Lagos Sate Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, at the sixth Lagos State Taxation Stakeholders’ conference held within the state,” the statement read.
The statement quoted the Chairman, Isolo Local Council Development Authority, Alhaji Abiodun Olaleye, as saying the company’s CSR was exceptional in the Isolo community.
It also quoted the Managing Director of Promasidor, Mr. Olivier Thiry, as saying the award signified the call for the company to do more for its host communities generally.
