A bill for an Act to authorise the issuing of N59.25 billion from the Statutory Revenue Fund of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) as its 2015 budget allocation for year ending December 31, 2015, has passed second reading in the House of Representatives.
The bill was read for the second time by the House majority leader, Mulikat Akande-Adeola, who gave a breakdown of the budget.
From a proposed total sum of N59,258,397,000 only, N16,242,056,000 is for recurrent expenditure; N10,978,187,000 for transfer to the federal government; N8,682,751,000 for transfer to the Universal Service Fund while the balance of N21,175,403,000 only is for capital and special projects for the year ending on December 31, 2015.
The bill was later referred to the House Committee on Communication for further legislative scrutiny ahead of the third reading before the eventual passage into law.
