Super Eagles Head Coach, Sunday Oliseh, does not expect an easy game in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Taifa Stars of Tanzania in Daar es Salaam today.
Rather, the coach expects some surprises whose style of play he describes as “aggressive”.
“We have watched the video of Tanzania. They are a very aggressive,” said Oliseh.
“We might get some surprises during the game and we expect anything from the side going by what we have seen in the tapes.”
Tanzania trained in Turkey preparatory to this qualifier and the team will be made up predominately of players from the country’s league with a sprinkling of foreign-based strikers led by the TP Mazembe pair of Thomas Ulimwengu and Mbwana Samata.
This will also be Oliseh’s first match in charge of the Eagles and despite the huge expectations on his shoulders, the former Nigeria skipper said there would be only three outcomes on Saturday in Dar es Salaam.
“There are three things that can happen in a game – we win, we draw or we lose,” he said.
Anzhi star Lukman Haruna hopes to cap his return back to the team with a win.
“I’d be happy if I get a goal in Dar es Salaam. That will be fantastic but winning for the team is the priority for me,” Haruna said.
Also confident of a win in Tanzania is Werder Bremen’s Anthony Ujah who is yet to score an international goal for the senior national team.
He said: “We just need to take our chances and stay solid.”
