Fayose lacks integrity, democratic credentials to accuse Buhari of dictatorship — APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has said that Governor Ayodele Fayose lacked the democratic credentials and integrity to accuse President Muhammadu Buhari of being tyrannical and constituting a threat to the survival of democracy in the Country.
Fayose had on Monday described as dictatorial, the President’s handling of cases involving the Deputy Governor-elect in Kogi State, James Faleke; Senate President, Bukola Saraki; and former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, among others, adding that the roles of the DSS under the nose of President Buhari were clearly undemocratic, tyrannical and a threat to the survival of democracy.
He also accused the civil rights groups of keeping silent while the President allegedly abused the rights of fellow Nigerians.
But a statement by Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, faulted Fayose’s tirade against the President, saying Fayose was the least to raise a finger in defence of democracy based on his antecedents as a “reckless promoter of anti-democratic conduct.”
Describing the governor as a man suffering from the diarrhea of the mouth, he said: “Governor Fayose, clearly unfit to be a governor, should be the least to complain about anti-democratic conduct because he is the greatest threat to democracy in Nigeria based on his serial breaking of the provisions of the Constitution of Nigeria.
“It is laughable that as shameless as Fayose is, he is now accusing the civil rights groups of keeping silent in the defence of the purported abuse of the rights of Nigerians by the President and we wonder what the governor’s legal backers said or did when he was serially breaking the laws of the nation in the last one year to the shock of Nigerians.
“Fayose invaded the court with thugs to beat up a judge and tear court records in the Chief Judge’s office and used seven lawmakers to illegally impeach a Speaker in the Assembly of 26 members.
“He used thugs to lay siege to the Assembly to prevent 19 APC members to attend House plenary sessions for six months and used seven PDP members to illegally pass the budget and confirm his commissioner-nominees while also arbitrarily cancelling programmes legally backed by the Assembly laws without recourse to the same Assembly for repeal of such laws and topped it with storming the Assembly with the gavel to pass a budget he presented in illegal manner to the shock of Nigerians and the world.
