Three persons were reportedly shot dead in Aminigboko community, Abua-Odua Local Government Area, Rivers State, weekend.
Community sources told Vanguard that unknown gunmen invaded the community, Saturday night, shooting sporadically with some houses set ablaze.
When contacted for comment, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Muhammad, said a unit of anti-riot policemen had moved into the area to restore order.
The police spokesman said he was not aware of any death in the incident, adding “the situation is now calm as almost a unit of mobile policemen was deployed. But we have no details of death, if any.” Vanguard
