Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State yesterday declared that all political families in the state are now working together as one family for the peace, unity and progress of the state.
The governor spoke at Ojorowo in Nkanu East Local Government Area of the state during the commissioning of three bridges reconstructed by a philanthropist and Chairman of Buzuzu Construction Company Limited, Prince Engr. Lawrence Ezeh for his community and other adjourning communities in the area.
Governor Ugwuanyi who was impressed by the kind gesture of the sponsor of the projects, Prince Eze, noted that it was as a result of the existing peace in the state that stakeholders of the Council were able to provide the platform for development in the area.
He emphasized the importance of peace, unity and absolute faith in God as the foundation of the recorded progress in the state, stressing that the current economic challenges in the country would not deter his administration from fulfilling its campaign promises to the people of the state.
While thanking Prince Ezeh and his wife, Princess Onyekachi for the projects, Governor Ugwuanyi informed the people that the ongoing Inyaba Bridge that will link up some communities to Amagunze, the Nkanu East L.G.A Headquarters, will soon be completed. He added that the process of awarding the contract for the Ugbakwa/ Nara/ Nkeriffi road was on-going and called on the people to continue to offer prayers for increase in the Federal Allocation to the state for his administration to actualize its people-oriented programmes.
In his remarks, Prince Ezeh said he was moved by his passion for service to humanity to embark on the projects, to ameliorate the suffering of the people of the area who had experienced a lot of challenges trying to access the bridges.
He thanked the governor for his support and cooperation towards the completion of the projects and promised to do more for the community.
The Transition Committee Chairman of the Council, Hon. Ikechukwu Ubagu and the Member, representing Nkanu East Constituency, Hon Paul Nnajiofor, thanked the governor for choosing the Nkanu East Local Government Area among the three development priority Local Government Areas in the state.
