Following alleged under-hand tactics by Niger Republic football officials in the U-17 African Cup of Nations qualifier in Niamey, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will officially protest to the continental soccer ruling body CAF.
It cited poor officiating by the match referee and rough handling of Nigerian officials who wanted to record the proceedings of the match, which the Eaglets lost 3-1.
NFF general secretary Mohammed Sanusi revealed that the Federation is reviewing the situation and will make a complaint to CAF.
“I’m personally worried and Nigeria Football Federation is worried and we are going to lay an official complaint,” said Sanusi.
“There was more to what we saw here in Niamey from these officials. This, I believe, was why they seized our camera. Look at the penalty awarded against us by the referee; where did that come from? There was nothing close to being a penalty kick in that situation.”
