Trump will make life harder for European Union – EU President

European Parliament President Martin Schulz has said the 45th President of United States, Donald Trump would make life ”harder” for the European Union.

He said: “It will be hard, harder than with previous administrations but he is the freely elected president. We must respect the future president of the United State. I hope we will find a slot to cooperate.”

Clinton-supporting celebrities have also been sent into meltdown following the unexpected result.

Lily Allen said: “Listening to my babies singing away to each other on the baby monitor, the world is a darker place than the one they went to sleep in. Sad.”

JK Rowling said: “We stand together. We stick up for the vulnerable. We challenge bigots. We don’t let hate speech become normalised. We hold the line.”

His victory was confirmed at 7.30am, with a humbled Hillary Clinton ringing her opposition to concede soon after.

Trump took to the stage at a fiery rally in his hometown of New York City to accept his victory at 7.45am GMT.

He said: “I have just received a call from Secretary Clinton. She congratulated us on our victory and I congratulated her and her family on a very, very hard fought campaign. She fought very hard.

“Hillary has worked very long and very hard over a long period of time and we owe her a major debt of gratitude for her service to our country.

“Now it’s time for America to bind the wounds of division. All Republicans and Democrats and independents across this nation, I say it is time for us to come together as one united people.

“I pledge to every citizen of this land that I will be president for all Americans.”

“Every single American will have the opportunity to realise his or her full potential. The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer.

“We are going to fix our inner cities, rebuild our infrastructure. We will put millions of our people to work as we rebuild it.

“We will also finally take care of our great veterans who have been so loyal. America will no longer settle for being second-best,” he said.

At his raucous rally in his hometown of New York City, supporters chanted “USA! USA!” and “Lock her up!”, while one person screamed, “Kill Obama!” during Trump’s delivery of his acceptance speech.

The first foreign politicians and business leaders have begun acknowledging the result and congratulating the Republican.

Nigel Farage said: “Looks like 2016 is going to be the year of two big political revolutions Donald Trump. Would be bigger than Brexit!”

Russian leader Vladimir Putin sent a telegram of congratulations to Trump, expressing his hope the pair could work hard to improve relations between the two countries.

Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban said: “What a great news. Democracy is still alive.”

The head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund has welcomed the news and said it would reduce global tension and provide new trade opportunities.

China said it will work with the new US president to ensure the steady and sound development of bilateral ties.
