The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has received 138 returnees from Libya.
NEMA spokesman Ibrahim Farinloye said the returnees got stranded in Libya when they attempted to cross to Europe from that country.
The Zonal Coordinator of NEMA in the South West Suleiman Yakubu who represented the DG welcomed the returnees with spirits of National Day anniversary celebration in arrears and urged them to see the brighter futures ahead of the Country to avail themselves with various Government initiatives at tackling various intractable challenges that the country had faced with restoration of hope for all Nigeria
The Coordinator stated that Nigeria is already on the right tracks to its lost glory with efforts to create more job opportunities in various fields of endeavours.
Those repatriated comprised of 65 female adults, 2 teenage girls and 2 infants baby girls while the male adults are 64, 2 teenage boys and 3 infants baby boys. Total adults that were brought back by IOM are 129 with 4 teenagers and 5 infants making a total of 138 Returnees brought back to Nigeria on the expression of interest to return to the country through d assistance of IOM.
The flight with Registration no 5ADM touched down at the Cargo Wing of MMIA around 8:05 P.m
Other agencies that joined NEMA in the exercise were Naptip, Police and FAAN
