Etisalat Nigeria has changed its brand name to 9Mobile, reports have said.
The name change follows the pullout of Mubadala Group, Etisalat’s major investor from the United Arab Emirates, over a $1.4bn (N541bn) debt.
The new name was said to have been adopted at an exclusive meeting which held in Lagos on Thursday.
Shortly after the meeting, Emerging Markets Telecommunication Services (EMTS) trading as Etisalat Nigeria management, sent notification to all its staff informing them of the new name.
