The Lagos State government says it will be playing a major role towards the hosting of the French President, Emmanuel Macron expected on an official visit to Nigeria in July this year.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism Art and Culture, Mr Steve Ayorinde gave the indication during a Ministerial Press Briefing at the State Press Centre, Alausa Ikeja at an event organised to mark the 3rd year of the state Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode.
Mr Ayorinde who explained that the state’s rich cultural abundance would be on display during Presidential visit said that the state has been working with the French delegation towards a successful visit.
“French President, Mr. Emmanuel Macron will be coming to Nigeria in the early days of July 2017 and will be spending sometime in Abuja, the state capital and of course, Lagos State. And we are happy to announce that the Lagos state Ministry of Tourism Art and Culture has had useful meetings with the delegation of the French government which include the Ambassador of France to Nigeria and the Special Adviser to President Macron on International Affairs.
Lagos state government through our Ministry will be working with the team that is putting things together to coordinate the cultural event that will welcome the France President, so that we can show the hospitality that Lagos is known for.” Ayorinde said
The Commissioner hinted that the French President has expressed deep interest in discovering the Art, Culture and Entertainment of Lagos State.
