The Chairman of Nduharry Global Resources Nigeria Limited, Hon. Prince Kingsley Uwanuakwa, has congratulated Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi after Rangers FC came back from a 0-3 deficit to level scores at 3-3 after regulations time to win the 2018 Aiteo Cup .
The Flying Antelopes finally defeated Kano Pillars 5-3 on penalties.
In a statement on Wednesday, the business mogul described the feat as “a miracle played out at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba”.
Uwanuakwa also praised the fighting spirit of the Enugu “Flying Antelopes”, adding that the “Asaba Miracle can only be achieved because Gov. Ugwuanyi created an enabling environment for success in Enugu State”.
“Just two years ago, Gov. Ugwuanyi’s unrelenting support helped Enugu Rangers to end their 32-year wait for the national league title. Therefore, it means that “Gburugburu” is getting it right with Rangers just as he has been doing in other spheres of governance”.
Uwanuakwa opined that “the sporting victories recorded in Enugu State could only mean a positive sign of victory for Gov. Ugwuanyi at the governorship election in 2019”.
The entrepreneur also urged other South-East governors to emulate Gov. Ugwuanyi in supporting football clubs in their states.
He singled out Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State and called on him to release funds to revamp Heartland FC so that the club could return to its glory days.
