The United Nations Deputy Secretary-General, Amina Muhammed has condemned the brutal murder of Deborah Samuel over alleged blasphemy.
Muhammed made her stance known via Twitter on Tuesday.
She also called for justice for the deceased, adding that religion should not be misinterpreted to preach violence.
“Justice must be done for the senseless, brutal killing of the young Deborah Yakubu in Nigeria. Religion should not be misinterpreted to preach violence when they promote peace.
“My prayers are with the family and repose for her soul”, she tweeted.
