A construction company, Planet Projects Nigeria Limited, renowned for its groundbreaking work on the Oshodi Transport Interchange in Lagos State, has landed a N51bn contract to construct state-of-the-art bus terminals and transport facilities in Abuja.
The Federal Executive Council approved the project during its meeting on Tuesday, highlighting the government’s commitment to upgrading the federal capital’s transportation infrastructure.
Mr Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, announced after the meeting.
Onanuga, disclosed this via his X handle, in made a post that summarised the policies and projects endorsed during the FEC sessions held on Monday and Tuesday.
The terminals, slated for completion within 15 months, will be positioned at Kugbo, Abuja Central Business District, and Mabushi, catering to the city’s commuter needs.
He wrote, “The Federal Executive Council also approved the award of contract for the building of bus terminals and other transport facilities in the Federal Capital, Abuja.
“Terminals will be built within 15 months at Kugbo, Abuja Central Business District and Mabushi. The whole project will cost N51 billion and will be executed by Planet Projects Nigeria Limited, which did similar contracts in Lagos and Oyo states.”
The council after a marathon meeting presided over by Tinubu on Tuesday rolled out 21 major policy initiatives.
From the Oshodi Transport Interchange to the Ikeja Bus Terminal, Planet Projects has consistently raised the bar in transportation engineering.
Its expertise extends beyond Lagos, with successful ventures in Oyo, Delta, Rivers, Ondo, and now, Abuja.
