President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded the nomination of Dr. Zainab Marwa to the Senate for confirmation as a member of the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), representing the North East zone.
In a letter read at the plenary by the Senate President, President Tinubu stated that the nomination complies with the provisions of the NDDC Establishment Act.
The appointment is intended to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of the immediate past board member, Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas, who stepped down on March 30, 2026, to pursue his governorship ambition in Adamawa State.
President Tinubu expressed optimism that the Senate would consider and confirm Dr. Marwa’s nomination promptly, enabling the board to seamlessly continue its mandate of driving development in the region.
The nomination was referred to the Senate Committee on NDDC for screening and further legislative action.
