About 99 filling stations in Lagos and Ogun states have been sealed for various market infractions and sanctioned accordingly for taking advantage of the current fuel supply shortages.

Industry regulator, the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, in a statement weekend, in Lagos, said the retail outlets violated various regulations and indicated the sanctions imposed on them, including:

Selling above government stipulated prices – N100K/ per pump; Under-dispensing of products – N100K/pump;
Operating without licence – seal/shut down; • Diversion of products – N200/litre, and; •Hoarding – dispense to the public at no cost.

The surprise of the list is not so much in the number of those affected but more in the fact that quite a number of the major marketers’ branded outlets were caught violating DPR market regulations as shown below:

Forte Oil, Ewuelere Ikorodu – selling kerosene at N110/L

The rest of the defaulters were independent outlets, who are mostly known for such malpractices:

Lado Oil, Ejigbo/Ikotun Rroad, Egbe – petrol under dispensing Ladiji, Ejigbo/Ikotun Road, Egbe – selling kerosene at N100/L.

Similarly, in Ogun State, there were more incidences of products diversion in the Ogun area than in Lagos as shown below:

Hope Okerinja – diverted 33,000 litres of petrol from PPMC Mosimi on 18/11/15. All of the above stations were surcharged with N200/L and suspended from lifting from depot. Other offenders include:
