The Enugu State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his “uncommon vision, steadfastness and leadership role” in providing dividends of democracy to the people in spite of the current economic challenges in the country.
In a statement issued to notify party faithful of the proposed inauguration of the party’s Local Government Area Executives, the state chairman of the party, Hon. Augustine Nnamani, expressed delight that Gov. Ugwuanyi has so far discharged his duties diligently and to the satisfaction of the party and the people of the state at large.
Hon. Nnamani said that the governor has made the repositioning process of the party easy because of his administration’s peace and development initiatives anchored on the principles of vision, all inclusiveness, steadfastness and progress.
He noted that the governor has kept faith with the manifesto of the PDP through his unprecedented achievements in all sectors of development, especially in roads construction and rehabilitation despite the lean resources at the disposal of the state government, stressing that the party is strong and formidable for the challenges ahead.
The state party chairman disclosed that the proposed inauguration of LGA executives was part of the repositioning process to strengthen its stronghold in the state, adding that his leadership had mapped out strategies on how to move the party forward and win future elections.
He, therefore, called on party members in the state remain steadfast, close rank and support the people-oriented programmes and policies of Governor Ugwuanyi’s administration aimed at improving the lives of the people.
“Our state party leader and Governor of Enugu State, in the face of the prevailing economic challenges, has made a mark in the political lexicon of the state having successfully restored peace and embarked on massive development projects that would impact positively on the lives of the people who freely gave us their mandate to lead them.
“We at the helm of affairs of the party commend our governor for the feats recorded so far and encourage him to hold on tightly to his vision to take Enugu State to the next level, through the fear of God and selfless service to humankind.” the party chairman said.
