Access Bank Plc has developed a gender empowerment scheme meant to boost the participation of women in business.
The Group Head, Abuja Business Banking Group, Access Bank, Mr. David Aluko, said that the move demonstrated the bank’s commitment to empowering women in the Small and Medium-scale Enterprises in order to promote economic growth and development.
Aluko spoke at the 6th edition of a capacity building programme that seeks to partner with customers and also provide a platform for information sharing.
According to him, statistics have shown that high percentage of women are in the SME sector and for this reason, the bank has strengthened its SME desk to serve as an avenue to share knowledge and information with customers on how to make the sub-sector more profitable.
