Embattled Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State, who is facing a 20- count charge investigation over alleged gross misconduct, Tuesday attended the Council of States meeting at the Presidential Villa Abuja.
However, the seven-man panel raised by the State Acting Chief Judge, Ambrose Mamadi will today begin investigation into the allegations against the governor.
The governor, who on Sunday declared a controversial two-day public holiday, left the state by road and was later reported to have attended the Council of States meeting yesterday.
Nyako, last week lost his legal battle to stop his impeachment which was the only option to escape investigations.
The panel Secretary, Binanu R. Esthon, confirmed on Tuesday that the panel will be sitting at the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) secretariat near Nyako’s private residence.
He said that the choice of NUJ secretariat was to give journalists full access to the activities of the panel to avoid some members of the public accusing the panel of being bias.
