President Goodluck Jonathan has appointed former Na tional Chairman of PDP, Dr. Ahmadu Ali, as the Director-General of the party’s presidential cam paign committee.
The committee will be inaugurated at the Legacy House, Maitama, Abuja, on Monday.
In the same vein, the President of the Senate, David Mark, has admitted that the party has serious opponents to contend with at all levels during the forthcoming 2015 general elections.
He made this observation during the inauguration of the party’s National Campaign Council headed by its National Chairman, Adamu Muazu, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He spoke a few hours after a former Head of State, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), emerged the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress.
He said since the party has serious contenders, members of the council must work hard to sell the party’s candi dates to Nigerians.
“Members of this coun cil have serious work to do as the party’s opponents are serious opponents to contend with,” he said.
President Goodluck Jonathan said the council would oversee all PDP campaigns and urged members to engage people on issues. Agency report
