Campaigns: No regrets over my roles, says Fani-Kayode

The Director of Media and Publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Femi Fani-Kayode, said on Wednesday that he has no regrets in the role he played in the campaign of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Fani-Kayode however, said he nurses no grudge against anyone but was merely doing his job.

He wished the President-elect well and urged him to be president for all irrespective of ethnic, religious or political divide.

Though, President Goodluck Jonathan did not win the elections, Fani-Kayode expressed delight in the efforts of the media directorate in selling the candidature of the PDP candidate.

He expressed appreciation to the Nigerian populace for their show of love to the president.

He also urged Nigerians to cooperate with the new government.

“We have come here today to express our gratitude to the Nigerian people for the overwhelming support that we received over the last few weeks when it comes to the issue of the Presidential election.

“We fought a virile, strong, aggressive and very effective campaign on behalf of our candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan and we put the case to the Nigerian people as to why we believe that he ought to have been elected as President for a second term.

“We are very proud of the efforts of our President and of our party and we are also very proud of the efforts of every single one of those who participated in the Presidential Campaign Organisation.

“It has however come to a point that we must tell the world and the Nigerian people about how we feel about the outcome of the election. What we will say here  today is basically to reiterate and to reflect the words of our leader and President, President Goodluck Jonathan.

“We start by saying that we commend and we congratulate General Muammadu Buhari for winning this election.

“We also wish to commend our President, President Goodluck Jonathan, for having the courage to concede that he has lost the election at the earliest moment and also for being able to stand up and rise above party politics and being able to speak like a statesman.

“We therefore urge the Nigerian people and our teeming supporters to stand firm and continue to support the democratic process and continue to agitate for a better Nigeria.

“We urge them to continue to support our party the PDP as best as they can even though we lost this election.

“We ask them to co-operate with the incoming government and to remember that we are first and foremost Nigerians before anything else” he said.

He insisted that the loss of the election does not mean the end of the world for him and the PDP as he urged the party faithfuls to remain united and be hopeful that power will shift to them also.

“Having lost, it does not mean that it is the end to the world, it just means that we need to re-group, re-organise ourselves and begin the process all over again because another elections will come in a few years time.  And that is where we are today.

“We have conceded that we have lost. We acknowledge the fact that we fought a good fight. We do not have any fears about the future. We did the right thing during the campaign.

Femi Fani-Kayode, the unsteady – always ready for purchase by the highest bidder! Read below his sort of double-life:

“The problem that we have is Mr Goodluck Jonathan himself – a President who prides himself on his own weakness and incompetence and whose love of false prophets and strange women knows no bounds and has no end.

“A President who is as confused and as
clueless as the comic character called Chancey Gardner in the celebrated 1970’s
Peter Seller’s Hollywood blockbuster titled ”Being There”.

“A President who does not understand the meaning of the word “class” or “honesty” and who breaks his own word consistently.

“A President who has abdicated his responsibilities, destroyed his own political party, divided his own country, alienated his own friends, humiliated his own mentor, abandoned his own people, brought ridicule to his own faith, cowers before his own officials, betrays his own governors, scorns the international community and breaks his solemn oath to protect and defend the Nigerian people.

“A President who does not even have the nerve or the guts to call to order any of the numerous Jezebels that control him. He is the problem we have in our country today and until he resigns, is impeached or is voted out of power nothing will change and Nigeria will continue to go from bad to worse. That is what you get when you vote for a man who never wore shoes
    to school.

    “OBJ has finally closed GEJ’s
chapter with his letter. Jonathan is finished- mark my words. Abati should shut
up and let his boss speak for himself on this one.

“The Ebora Owu has spoken and the
issues that he has raised are too serious to be ignored or to be responded to
with amateurish and cheeky insults and slurs from a mere staff of the
    Presidency.

    “The President should find the
courage to personally answer the charges and address the message rather than
get his aides to attack the messenger. As Baba said, Jonathan is “bleeding Nigeria to
death”. It is time for change.

“God used Obasanjo to put Jonathan
in power and, by His grace, He will use that same Obasanjo to remove him.

    “Under President Goodluck
Jonathan, we have become a nation of vampires where the death of innocent
children and youths means nothing and where we cannot even provide jobs or a
decent standard of living for our young ones. Instead we attempt to scam them
and to extort money from them. What a government! What a country!

“Whichever way it goes I have
absolutely no doubt that the removal of the fuel subsidy on New Year’s day is
the final straw: President Goodluck Jonathan, the King Rehoboam of our time,
has hardened his heart unto destruction, just like Pharaoh once did, and he has
fallen into the trap that has been set for him by God and by his enemies. May
    the Lord save Nigeria
from this inexplicable and unpleasant mess and may the Nigerian people
themselves wake up from their accursed slumber and take their destiny into
their own hands. The smell of religious war, sectarian violence, regional and
ethnic conflict, insecurity, untold suffering, rampant poverty and economic
hardship is in the air. Nigerians are divided as never before and our country
is slowly crumbling and dying before our very eyes. Who will save Nigeria? Who
will stand up and say enough is enough? Who will pull us back from the brink?
Who can we count on to take the bull by the horns and to do the right thing?
Where is our deliverer and from whence will our Jehu come? When will our David
with the heart of Cyrus arise? There must be a change. My God, let there be a
    change.

“The truth is that the vultures are already
feeding fat on the rotting and decaying cadaver of the PDP and whether anyone
likes to hear it or not, the truth is that the party can never be whole again.
As I said eight months ago, it is a party that has been rejected by God and
whose leaders are suffering God’s judgment for their unjust, gluttonous,
    wicked, foul and evil ways.”

    *Femi Fani-Kayode made a volte-face
barely a year after publishing the above commentary on his website. Yes, he did as soon as he was foolishly
appointed the Director-General of Media and Publicity for Jonathan’s campaign
    2015.

Ebube Monye, you have a devilish spirit you are selling in the social media. You are too old to be young. FFK is a courageous guy always.
