The Ekiti State Assembly lawmaker in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS), Afolabi Akanni, has been confirmed to be alive but critically ill, according to a source.
Akannni who represents Efon constituency at the state’s assembly was had been in the DSS detention since March 4 was on Thursday paraded by the security agents before journalists in Abuja.
Recall that earlier on Thursday, the Ekiti state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Lanre Ogunsuyi speaking at a press conference in Ado-Ekiti claimed Akanni had died in DSS custody.
He said he died on Thursday morning after taking ill in detention.
However, from the appearance of the detained lawmaker who looks frail, it was gathered that he is in poor health condition.
