Ecobank has rewarded those that emerged winners in the first monthly draws of its Card 4 Prizes promo held in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja.
According to a statement by the bank, the 15 lucky winners that emerged from an electronic draw witnessed by officials from National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Consumer Protection Council and others, went home with different prizes including smart phones, LCD TVs, air conditioners, home theatres and generators.
Winners from the Port Harcourt centre include Nwite Okoroafor (generator), Ejiroghene Josephine (home theatre), Ojo Omorovbie (air conditioner), Nweke Sunday Theophilus (LED TV 32’’) and Okiti Igho (Samsung Galaxy).
At the Abuja centre, the winners were Ogunsola Adewale Waidi (generator), Sarki Abdullahi (home theatre), Agharite Derume (air conditioner) Isan Musa (Samsung LED TV 32’’), and Ada Dike (Samsung Galaxy Mega Mobile Phone).
Winners from Lagos draw inclued Sani Mairiga (Samsung Galaxy Mega Mobile Phone); Iwara Obeten (LED TV 32’’) and Agboola Sunday (air conditioner).
According to Head, Cards and e-banking, Ecobank, Mr. Tunde Kuponiyi, the promo is part of efforts in supporting the use of alternative payment channels by customers and also strengthening the CBN’s cash-less policy.
He explained that the promo, planned to run for three months, would see customers of the bank winning prizes that include sedan cars, paid trip to Brazil and scholarships valued N300,000 each.
To select winners, Kuponiyi explained that “a point-based rating” would be applied, “meaning winning customers will be awarded points for every transaction done on the bank’s alternative channels,’’
He added that customers were expected to accumulate a minimum of 20 points to qualify for the monthly draw, while the grand finale draw which will also hold in the three centres,, would be based on total accumulated points during the course of the promo.
According to him, the alternative channels are cash withdrawals from Ecobank’s ATMs, transactions made on PoS terminals and internet payments.
“Withdrawals done on other bank’s ATMs will not attract any points. There is also instant reward for customers who walk into any of the bank branches, pick up debit cards and activate them.”
