The Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has described Governor Sullivan Chime as an exemplary leader who has made all the of Enugu State and their representatives at the National Assembly proud with his achievements in the office.
He was speaking at a Peoples Democratic Party, Nde Aboh, headquarters of his home local government Aninri, said Chime has set record in good governance for which the people will continue to respect and follow him even after he has left office.
“I am satisfied, excited and proud to be his Senator representing governor Chime in the Senate. He has made us proud, he is a good leader and we will continue to respect and follow him even after he has left office.”
Senator Ekweremadu also lauded the choice of Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi as the party’s gubernatorial candidate, describing him as the hard working and committed leader who is set to take Enugu State to a greater height.
In his own speech, Governor Chime thanked the people of Aninri for their unrelenting support for PDP in all the elections. He promised that the party will continue to address their aspirations and developmental needs.
Also speaking, Hon Ugwuanyi urged the people to transform their support for the party into action by turning our in enmass to vote for President Jonathan and all the party’s candidates in the forthcoming elections.
He promised to continue and consolidate on the legacies and good works of Chime’s administration, stressing that was the minimum that any new administration could do.
The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of PDP flags to Senator Ekweremadu and other candidates of the party in the senatorial, house of representatives and other positions in the area.
Earlier in the day, the traditional rulers of the local government had given their blessing and presented the traditional “Ofor” to Ugwuanyi, assuring him of the support of Aninri people in the gubernatorial election.
