A new terminal at the domestic wing of Abuja airport will be ready in six months.
This was disclosed by the minister of aviation, Mr Osita Chidoka, during an inspection tour of facilities at the Abuja airport.
Osita also said that he would continue with the numerous projects of his immediate predecessor, Stella Oduah, but would focus more on security and safety at the airports.
He said: “I have also tried to see that my predecessor had done very well in the terminal buildings so all that we need to focus and complete the works that have already started, but with that we want to pull our resources away from the terminal remodelling and focus more on the security and safety of the airports. So we are talking to airline operators and Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). Also that we make sure that we focus more on the safety of passengers and air space.”
He pleaded with passengers to bear with disruptions to their comforts due to the work in progress.
