The Governor of Abia State, Mr. Alex Otti, has increased the number of people holding political appointments in his government barely two weeks after his administration clocked 100 days.
In the latest appointment that was announced yesterday, the governor added 14 more appointees to various positions, including heads of agencies.
Top on the list of the new appointees is Professor Udochukwu Ogbonna, who was brought back to the board of Internal Revenue as Chairman.
Ogbonna had held the same position under the administration of Senator Theodore Orji but was removed by Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, shortly after he took over the reins of power.
A statement that was signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Kazie Uko, said that Mr. Kingsley Nkemakolam Agomoh has been appointed the new General Manager of Umuahia Capital Development Authority (UCDA) while Mr. Chinenye Mba-Uzoukwu was named the principal secretary/chief strategy officer to Governor Otti.
The list of appointment also included Justice K. C. Nwankpa (Rtd), Ombudsman; Dr. Lilian Ezenwa, senior special assistant, Ease of Doing Business, and Professor Vincent Eze Onwe, provost, Abia State College of Education, Technical, Arochukwu.
In addition, Mr. Godson Anucha was appointed senior special assistant, Labour Relations; Miss Ure Abazie, deputy general manager, Abia State Orientation Agency while Okezie Ezengwa is appointed the deputy general manager, Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA), Aba.
Moreover, Dr. Idika Mba Idika, Head, Government House Clinic; Mr. Charles Egonye, technical assistant to the Governor; Miss Elizabeth Chibuzor Chijioke, special assistant, Digital Economy.
The Executive Secretary, Centre for Citizens with Disabilities, Mr. David Anyaele, was named special assistant, Persons Living with Disabilities while Kenechukwu Nwosu is special adviser, Education.
Nwosu was the chairman of Abia State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) in the administration of Theodore Orji and partly under Ikpeazu.
