The Commissioner for Information and Orientation in Edo State, Mr. Louis Odion, has resigned his appointment citing family challenges as part of the reasons for his decision.
Louis was first appointed in 2011 and got reappointed after the re-election of Governor Oshiomhole.
It was learned that Governor Oshiomhole has accepted the resignation which is expected to take effect from the end of this month.
Saturday Vanguard learned that the Governor earlier rejected his resignation but after pressure from Odion who told Saturday Vanguard that he missed his family in Lagos, the governor accepted his resignation and had planned a befitting send-off party for Odion before the end of the month.
When contacted, Odion confirmed his resignation, saying “you know I have always been a professional and not a core politician. I missed my family and I need to be with them in Lagos, I have stayed away for four years now and that is not too good for me. My children need my attention, they are still too young.”
“I am proud to be part of this great success by the Comrade Governor in Edo state. We have conquered PDP both at the state and national level so we don’t have any problem. All the Comrade Governor needs now is to consolidate on the successes achieved, he has done very well for our dear state and we are very proud of him” he stated. Vanguard
