President Goodluck Jonathan has said it is only the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) among all other political parties in Nigeria that is not owned by an individual.
Jonathan stated this in Umuahia, Abia State when he had audience with Abia State Traditional Council, led by its Chairman, His Royal Highness, Eberechi Dick, at the Ministry of Local Government of Chieftancy Affairs.

The President who apologised for keeping them waiting explained that because of the short time left for campaign they have to take two states per day. He also assured the women that their loyalty will be rewarded.

“The campaign time is so short that is why we are taking two states per day.

“I thank you for giving me your daughter as wife, she is a strong pillar and a very good mobiliser. By implication I am your own son. We will do more though I have not done enough for my in-laws.

“No government can do all it wants to do but if it continues to do the right thing consistently we will move from where we are to where we want to be..

“Our industrial policy is to encourage our young enterprenures to create jobs‎. All what the Igbos want is the enabling environment to excel in entrepreneurial activities and we will provided just that.

“PDP is still the party that has the interest of Nigeria at heart. It is not a clique, it does not belong to any individual. It is not owned by anybody but owned by every Nigerian, you can hold any ‎position in our party provided you are a committed member,” he stated.

Orji on his party told the traditional rulers that Jonathan is their son who needs their support and urged them to give them full support.

National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Adamu Muazu, in his remarks also commended the people of the state for supporting their son in-law and urged them not to relent.

He described the First Lady as “‎amiable, intelligent, clever, loyal, a committed partner and housewife that has guaranteed the party 50 per cent of the women’s vote because of what she has done.

“On behalf of our party thank you for your time, prayers, support. We ask for more prayers, support and be more committed to your son in-law so that he will be endorsed by other Nigerians as our president in 2015.

“Is a special time for us and we thank you for your loyalty to our president and our party. we pray God to bless, elongate your lives”.
‎His Royal Highness Dick, assured Jonathan that 95 per cent vote he got in 2011 will be increased to 10 per cent come February 14th.

“We are enjoying security and peace in Abia because before now we were sleeping with eyes opened because of Okosisi and his gang.

“You have our unalloyed support. You got 95 in 2011 this 2015 you will have 100 per cent.

“We believe you mean well for our nation, and we know you will flood this zone with more democracy dividend when you retun to office.

Commended Jonathan for the confidence he has reposed on Orji.

Notable persons that accompanied the President were, Vice President Namadi Sambo, First Lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, Mrs. Amina Sambo, wife of Abia State Governor, Mercy Orji, Wife of the Senate President, Helen Mark,‎ the State PDP flag, Okezie Ikpeazu, among other dignitaries.
