The Federal Ministry of Works will, on April 10, perform the official kick off of the reconstruction of Kabba/Ilorin road which is being undertaken by the ministry.
Minister of Works, Architect Mike Onolimemeh, has last week sent out letters of invitation to stakeholders in Kogi and Kwara states for the ceremony.
Senator Smart Adeyemi, who represents Kogi West Senatorial District confirmed the flag off on Saturday, saying that the development was a dream come true for his people.
He said he had been in touch with the Chairman of Kabba/BuunnuLocal Government, Honourable Funsho Olorunfemi, whom he said had assured that everything would be put in place to ensure successful flag off.
He enjoined the people to troop out in large number to appreciate the Federal Government as well as the state government in bringing the reconstruction to reality.
“The road is key to the socio-economic development of Kogi and Kwara states and we must all show concern by appreciating the government that has realised the need to fix the road ,” the senator said.
He also commended Governor Idris Wada and his deputy Archictect Yomi Awoniyi for ensuring that that reconstruction comes to practical fruition.
