The 38th edition of the Kaduna International Trade Fair with the theme ‘Promoting Public Private Partnership as Panacea for Accelerated Growth and Development’ began yesterday.
The fair has over the years faced challenges including insecurity which hindered its success.
Speaking at the opening, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Okechukwu Enelamah, announced plans to harness and exploit the solid mineral reserve in Kaduna State to grow the economy for the benefit of the people.
The minister, who spoke through the Executive Director, Nigerian Investment Promotion Council, Olusegun Awolowo, said that will attract both local and foreign investors to the country.
The governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasiru El-Rufai, assured both local and foreign investors of conducive environment for businesses. Represented by his deputy, Architect Bala Bantex, El-Rufai said the state government would provide land for investors as well as adequate security.
On his part, the National President, Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Chief Bassey Edem commended the state government for its efforts towards restoring the economy of the country through well thought-out policies.
