The Kebbi State Executive Council has approved the recruitment of 4,000 teachers to be deployed to secondary schools in the state.

The approval is contained in a statement signed by Alhaji Abubakar Mu’azu, the Press Secretary to the governor on Saturday in Birnin Kebbi.

Mu’azu said the Council had directed the Civil Service Commission to release employment letters to newly employed teachers.

The Council, he added, had also directed immediate biometric capturing of the teachers to enable them to receive their salaries immediately.

The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that 20,000 teachers applied for employment in the state in 2012 and 8,000 were considered for training at the state-owned University of Science and Technology.

However, 4,000 were employed out of the 8,000 considered for the training. NAN
