The Delta State governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has announced the introduction of what he called ‘extra pay package’ for workers at the end of the year to enable them meet the financial strains associated with yuletide season.
Speaking at the May Day celebration in Asaba, yesterday, the governor made it clear that workers deserved to be motivated and appreciated for the roles they are playing in ensuring increased productivity, noting that the extra pay package, which will be the first of its kind in the state, is to encourage them to always put in their best.
He said: “Let me assure workers that at the end of the year, we will work out something extra, definitely, there will be extra payment for them.”
He announced that his administration will employ more teachers and health workers within the next few weeks in addition to the ongoing employment into the Delta State Civil Service.
