The military conducted a mass burial for personnel who died during an ambush and air crash in Niger State.
Bandits had ambushed the troops in Niger State on August 14, 2023, killing 14 soldiers while seven were injured.
The burial took place at the National Military Cemetery, Abuja.
Present at the cemetery were the minister of Defence, Alhaji Badaru Mohammed, and minister of state, Bello Mattawale.
Others included Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, Chief of Navy Staff, Vice Admiral Ikechukwu Ogalla and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Abubakar Hassan among other top military personnel.
Some families of the deceased were seen in tears at the cemetery.
The Nigerian Armed Forces flag flew half-mast in the cemetery.
