The wife of the Ondo State Governor, Mrs. Olukemi Mimiko, has urged parents to participate actively in health programmes of government in order to reduce child, women mortality rate.
She spoke during a party organised for children in the state at the Government House ground.
According to her, government had carefully designed the programmes for the benefit of the people to be able to contribute to the development of the state.
Mrs Mimiko noted that the various intervention of government in the health sector had led to a drastic reduction in infant mortality with the children in the state having hope of surviving.
She also said apart from the direct benefits of such programmes, they also serve as means of tackling poverty as they are offered at no cost.
She also said the free shuttle bus of government had gone a long way to reduce the burden on parents.
