The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) says it has stopped the search for a substantive coach for the Super Eagles till after the African Nations Cup qualifiers between the Super Eagles and Pharaohs of Egypt.
The Super Eagles arrived in Kaduna today to begin preparation for Friday’s clash with the Pharaohs. They are lodged at the African Continental Hotel, Kaduna.
NFF Assistant Director (Media), Ademola Olajire, told The Guardian yesterday that the federation has decided to shelve the search in order to give the interim Super Eagles’ Head Coach, Samson Siasia, and his crew the chance to concentrate on taming Egypt in the Nations Cup qualifiers on Friday and on March 29.
He disclosed that the NFF has put the logistics in place to secure and ensure peace in the Eagles and Pharaohs camps in Kaduna, stressing that all hands are on deck to ensure Nigeria came out victorious in the games.
“Nobody is thinking of getting a new coach for the Super Eagles now because the interim head coach of the team, Samson Siasia, and his crew currently have crucial assignments. They need no distractions. We have to concentrate on ensuring the Eagles beat Egypt.
“On the issue of security, the NFF is working closely with the Police and the Inspector General has assured us of adequate security in Kaduna,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Pharaohs of Egypt are expected to arrive Kaduna today by 9.00 p.m., and have their first feel of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium tomorrow. The Guardian
