Organizers roll out plans for Bet9ja Ekiti Football League

The organizers of the eagerly-awaited Bet9ja Ekiti State Football League have rolled out plans that would make the competition exciting.

According to a statement from the Secretary of the Ekiti State FA, Mr. Idowu I.B., 40 teams are expected to square up in the play-offs which begins 20th May,2019 and would run for two weeks at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti.

At the play offs, the duration of a  match will be one hour which means the teams would play 25mins per half and 10mins break between the halves.

Only 12 teams shall emerge to go into the main league.

The twelve teams that qualify from the play-offs shall be pooled into two groups of six teams each.

The league proper shall be played on home and away basis.

The statement revealed further that  at the end of the group stage, the best two teams in each group will qualify to play for the final plays-offs.

The final play-offs which shall be on a knock out basis, is also expected to hold at the Oluyemi Kayode stadium.

Meanwhile, the organizers have also confirmed that eminent personalities and football stakeholders in the state, including His Royal Highness the Olukere of Ikere, Oba Ganiyu Ayodele Obasonyin; Ekiti State FA Patron Mr. O’Seun Odewale the SA/DG , BPP Ekiti State and the Hon. Commissioner for Youths and  Sports, Mr. Michael Awopetu will be available on 20th May 2019 for the kick-off of the Bet9ja Ekiti Football League.
