The President of Chrisgate Computer College, Lagos, Mr. Christopher Alabi, has supported the claim by a former Education Minister, Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili, that the nation’s education system is outdated.
Alabi made this known in a chat with journalists at the 10th Success Summit of Chrisgate Motivational Network held in Lagos.
Ezekwesili, at the 20th Nigerian Economic Summit in Abuja last week, had said the use of archaic examination system was one of the major challenges facing the country’s education sector.
Aligning with the former minister’s assertion, Alabi said Nigeria lagged behind as the rest of the world had abolished the use of papers in writing examinations.
He also faulted the style adopted by the Nigerian Immigration Service to conduct the last recruitment exercise, noting that if the NIS had computerised the testing process, there would not have been that sad incident.
