A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), from Cross River State, Obol Patrick Okomiso, has described as shocking and tragic the death of former spokes person of President Olusegun Obasanjo, Mrs. Oluwaremilekun Oyo.
The late Oyo who passed away on Wednesday, in a London hospital from undisclosed ailment was at one time the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)
“I work with Remi during the Obasanjo government and she was a great woman and a patriot. One who had the interest and love of Nigeria at heart. Her death at this moment is a great loss to Nigeria and the media industry in the country,” Okomiso said.
“We are sure going to miss her great contribution to the political and media sectors in the country,” the Cross River born politician said.
Obol Okomiso also commiserated with the diseased immediate family and the entire nation on the demise of “this great and vibrant Nigeria who will be fondly remembered for her selfless service to her fatherland”.
