A winner has emerged the winner of a brand new Hyundai Elantra car in the First Bank of Nigeria’s savings bonanza.
A pastor with the Christ Apostolic Church, Ijebu Jesa, Osun State, Mr. Hosea Olaomo was presented with the brand new car by the Osun Business Development Manager of the bank, Mr. Olusola Alawode, in Osogbo on Tuesday.
Alawode, who was represented by the Osun Business Development Officer of the bank, Mrs. Foluke Hamilton, said in an interview with our correspondent after the presentation that the bank was using the promo to reward customers’ loyalty.
She said that the promo was organised to encourage more people to embrace savings culture
“We are happy to present the brand new car to the customer who emerged the winner. This is real and that is why we invited people to come and witness it so that they would know that we keep to our promises.
“The bank is giving out brand new cars to attract especially young people to save more. With a brand new car, you don’t need to worry about repairs for many years provided you maintain it very well,” she said.
The pastor, who was accompanied to the ceremony by some members of his congregation, said he was grateful to God for making him the winner of the car.
Describing the car as a Christmas gift, Olaomo said he did not fill any raffle ticket but his name was just picked.
He said, “I am grateful to God for this wonderful gift although I started banking with First Bank in 2010, I have not participated in any raffle neither do I play lottery.
“My name was picked as the winner of the car. The officials of the bank are honest. I was surprised when they informed me and here I am today with this gift from God sent to me through First Bank.”
The cleric urged Nigerians especially the younger generation to embrace savings culture and to invest their money wisely, saying they did not need to spend all they made now.
