Security operatives on Wednesday intercepted a luxury bus conveying over 21 suspected members of Boko Haram at Obollo Afor in Udenu council area of Enugu state.
Unconfirmed reports had it that the alleged insurgents were heading from Aba, Abia state ,south east to Kaduna state.
“They were apprehended in the wee hours of today by a team of national task force on small arms, ammunitions, and light weapons,” said security source who pleaded for anonymity.
However, when our correspondent visited the state police headquarters this morning, the suspects, were seen filing out of the intercepted bus with registration number, AKD816XG into the premises of the command.
It wasgathered that the vehicle, belonging to the Young Shall Grow transport company, was impounded during a stop and check exercise by the security operatives.
When asked to confirm the arrest of the suspects, the state commissioner of police mohammed Adamu Abubakar, who had earlier paraded four criminals, nabbed for car snatching, declined comment, saying he was yet to get detail information on the incident.
Though, he hinted that he has ordered the task force team to transfer the suspected to the police headquarters in Enugu.
