Taraba Assembly passes 2020 budget of N215.8 billion

The Taraba House of Assembly on Wednesday passed an appropriation bill of N215.8 billion into law.

Governor Darius Ishaku had, on December 19, submitted a proposal of N213.6 billion for the 2020 fiscal year to the State Assembly for consideration. The lawmakers jerked the budget to N215.8 billion, an increase of over N2 billion.

Speaker Joseph Albasu Kunini explained that the lawmakers considered the increase in Value Added Tax (VAT) in the country to jerk up the budge.
