An unidentified middle-aged female passenger was on Wednesday morning found dead at one of the toilets of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos.
A reliable source told NAN in Lagos that the woman who was scheduled to travel abroad was leaving the country to seek medical attention abroad before her demise.
The source said the passenger, who was feeling unwell, went into the toilet where her corpse was later discovered.
Mr Yakubu Dati, General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), confirmed the incident.
“A middle-aged woman was discovered dead in the bathroom of the international airport this morning around 6:30a.m, so, we called the relevant people and the corpse has been taken to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital for autopsy,” Dati said.
He said the identity of the passenger would not be released until her family was duly informed of her demise.
“Our procedure is that the family needs to know first. It is not proper for the family to find out on the pages of the newspaper,” Dati said.
